Lovely hill country property! Mom and I enjoyed our getaway at The Outpost. Well stocked, very clean, gorgeous views. Really enjoyed the tribute to the armed forces and first responders as well as the history found all over the house and property. We will be back! We stayed at The Outpost to celebrate both our anniversary and our son’s birthday, and the experience exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much thought, care, and intention has gone into this home and property. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and full of unique details that make the stay feel special rather than generic. The views were incredible, and evenings spent around the fire—looking up at the stars and identifying constellations—became some of our favorite memories. Inside, there were thoughtful “Easter eggs,” puzzles, and activities that brought our family together in ways we didn’t expect. Even something as simple as introducing our kids to a Nintendo Wii led to some surprisingly competitive (and hilarious) bowling matches. The home itself was spotless and very well maintained. Everything worked exactly as it should, and the tech setup was intuitive and reliable, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the space without frustration. The hot tub was pristine and quickly became a highlight for us—especially in the evenings. Communication and customer service were excellent throughout the entire process. Check-in and check-out were smooth and clearly explained, and any questions we had were answered promptly and thoughtfully. It’s obvious the owners take pride not only in the property but also in the guest experience. What truly sets The Outpost apart is the atmosphere it creates. For us, it was both meaningful and fun—a place that encouraged reflection, connection, and quality time as a family. It’s rare to find a rental that feels so intentionally curated while still being warm, comfortable, and inviting. We left feeling grateful for the experience and inspired by what the owners have built and shared. We have stayed at THE OUTPOST several times; usually, in January. We love the honor shown to our Military, First Responders, Medical personnel, and Canines who have served and saved. THE OUTPOST is a fabulous Retreat. Close enough to eat at fabulous restaurants, shopping, museums, hiking, and many more activities. But, we like the serenity, dark skies and brilliant stars, hearing the wind at night on the metal roof, and sitting on the porches. There are many surprises in this unique cabin in the form of “Easter Eggs”…like treasure hunts. The cabin is full of history and you are allowed to enjoy all at your leisure. THE OUTPOST has comfy beds and a fully stocked kitchen. There is a pantry with seasonings, cooking necessities, and s’more fixings. There is delicious Caliche coffee. Stay and relax. You will be back. Please visit and honor the Brick Garden commemorating those who have served in various capacities. Very clean with nice amenities and attention to detail. The location with great views and total seclusion made for a great peaceful, relaxing and refreshing experience, we could not be more pleased with our stay at the Outpost. We will be back. We had a wonderful time staying at the Outpost for a mid-December getaway. It was the perfect place to get off the grid and away from the day-to-day grind. The accommodations were comfortable, spacious, and with all the comforts of home away from home. The walking trails and dark night skies were perfect for enjoying nature and stargazing. And the hot tub was a wonderful bonus!
